Here we go again; another round of the Bernalillo Audax, a ride from Santa Fe to Bernalillo, NM culminating in catching the NM Rail Runner back to Santa Fe. Heading north to Los Alamos, skirting the Valles Caldera National Preserve, enjoying the eye-catching red rocks of Jemez Pueblo, then flying south from San Ysidro on NM550 to Bernalillo to catch some vibes at Bosque Brewing before boarding the locomotive.
Of course, please be aware that this is a fully self-supported ride for your personal enjoyment and is taken at your own risk! If you feel that you may be limited in your abilities to complete the ride, have someone ready to pick you up along the route as this ride is dependent that we catch the train back to Santa Fe in due time (roughly 6:09pm at the Bernalillo RailRunner Station…). A 300km excursion from the Zia Road Rail Runner Station in Santa Fe to Los Ranchos/Journal Center Rail Runner Station (in Albuquerque) via north to Abiquiu, passing through many locales in the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range and the surrounding areas, then heading south to the Los Ranchos/Journal Center Rail Runner Station, catching the train back to Santa Fe.
Rider should be arriving at the Zia Train Station around 5:30am. Departure time from the Zia Road Rail Runner Station will be on Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at 5:40am-5:45am as we will have about 13hrs. or so to complete the brevet. Multiple resupply stops will be available along the route, but time spent at stops will not be too long as we will have to maintain an average of tempo speed of about 25km/hr (15mi/hr) for the *6:35pm train to complete the endeavor.
A front and rear light is recommended as we will be arriving home as the dark will be upon us. We will be passing several stops for food, but it would be advised to bring your burritos, meal replacements, electrolytes, etc. to compensate for some areas. While the brevet will mostly be a no-drop ride, please be aware that riders who are attempting to complete the full route will have to maintain a certain pace to catch the train. Riders may be satisfied with a shorter ride such as just reaching Albuquerque.

Rider should be arriving at the Zia Train Station around 5:30am. Departure time from the Zia Road Rail Runner Station will be on Saturday, August 24th, 2024 at 5:40am-5:45am as we will have roughly 14hrs. complete the brevet. Multiple *resupply stops will be available along the route, but time spent at stops will not be too long as we will have to maintain an average of tempo speed of about 22km/hr (13.7mi/hr) for the 7:43pm train to complete the brevet.
A front and rear light is recommended as we will be arriving home as the dark will be upon us. *We will be passing several stops for food, but it would be advised to bring your burritos, meal replacements, electrolytes, etc. to compensate for some areas. While the brevet will mostly be a no-drop ride, please be aware that riders who are attempting to complete the full route will have to maintain a certain pace to catch the train. Riders may be satisfied with a shorter ride such as just reaching Albuquerque via Route 66 from Tijeras.
